MarTec Ltd - Laid Up & Reactivation Services

MarTec ltd provides full package of Laid Up services in ELEFSIS Bay. Since the beginning of the Laid Up process (bringing the ship in laid up condition) monitoring, inspect and maintain records through out the whole period and finally by reactivating and have the ship's Class status reinstated.

MarTec ltd, develops ship's specific laid up Planned Maintenance Scheme, following Class recommendations and local rules incorporating any additional requirements according to the owners/managers standards.

Contracted workshop and our engineers are ready to follow up the ship's specific Planned Maintenance Systems and provide records for the machinery and equipment onboard.

We offer two different modes of lay-up:

  1. WARM
  2. COLD

Following your class society and or flag administration requirements we carry out all preparation from our side with co-operation with the crew and operations office. We issue guidelines for the preparation of the ship before LAID UP with instructions to the crew and assistance of our representative onboard.

Once the vessel is ready Class surveyor will attend to issue the LAID UP Statement for the port authorities and then vessel considered to be in laid up status having all statutory certificates "paused" but always with valid CLASS certificate necessary for the P&I (who may attend as well for the reduction of the insurance fee).

Services provided:

  1. Support with documentation to obtain permits from local authorities
  2. Issue guidelines for the laid up preparation before ship's arrival by crew
  3. Develope PMS check list for the routine maintenance and operation of your vessel during the laid up period
  4. Routine maintenance and preservation works
  5. Provision of machinery (Deck Generators, Dehumidifiers, Bilge Alarm indepentend systems, Hydrometers, Safe Mooring Fenders, etc)
  6. Regular monitoring of the vessel mooring and safe berth
  7. Reporting to ship owners on weekly or monthly basis, with a list of PMS items and Defects List for reactivation works
  8. Reactivation services. Having your ship active with our crew, when your crew arrive onboard on completion of the laid up period.
